Developing Careers Strengthening Communities: True North Goodwill Resource & Training Center Capital Campaign
Your Opportunity to Transform Lives for Generations
At True North Goodwill, we believe that every individual should have the opportunity to seek greater independence through connections to educational opportunities, skills training, and meaningful employment which has the potential to transform lives for generations. Our Resource and Training Center will be a newly constructed facility, serving as a hub of vocational, educational, and employment training opportunities in our community.
Our organization is beginning a new chapter, and we’d like to take this opportunity to share some exciting plans for the future with you.
Imagine a place where individuals gather to build skills through vital job training and participate in meaningful work, strategically located near the communities that need it most. That’s the vision behind True North Goodwill Resource and Training Center. The new facility, which will be located in the Atlas Industrial Park in Gary New Duluth, will be a beacon of opportunity for both job seekers and local businesses alike, offering:
- Job training classrooms and computer labs
- Career counseling, workshops, and networking activities
- Re-entry services for justice-involved individuals and others re-entering the workforce
- MFIP support programs
- On-site employment opportunities and commercial skills training
- Onsite childcare for training participants and employees
By making these resources accessible in one location along a public transit line, we will deliver mission services to thousands of people each year while stimulating local economic growth. We project this new regional headquarters will create approximately 75 new jobs and support stable employment for about 300 individuals throughout Northern Minnesota and Northwestern Wisconsin.
We know that when more people find independence through the power of learning and career development, the ripple effect can directly make an impact on our communities by reducing homelessness, food insecurity, and childhood poverty. But we can’t make this vision a reality without generous supporters like you.
Together, we can bridge the gap between job seekers and employers, fostering collaboration that strengthens our communities and impacts lives for generations. Thank you once again for your support and consideration.
