Our Mission
Goodwill’s mission is inspiring personal transformation through the power of learning and career development. True North Goodwill is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization that provides training, jobs, and support services for people with barriers to employment who seek greater independence. Our Goodwill organization serves 29 counties across Northern Minnesota and North Central Wisconsin.
Minnesota: Aitkin, Becker, Beltrami, Carlton, Cass, Clearwater, Cook, Crow Wing, Hubbard, Itasca, Kittson, Koochiching, Lake of the Woods, Lake, Mahnomen, Marshall, Norman, Otter Tail, Pennington, Pine (northern half)
Wisconsin: Ashland, Bayfield, Douglas. Iron
We currently operate 11 retail stores and one salvage/processing center, located at our territory headquarters in Duluth, MN. All revenues generated go directly to supporting local Goodwill employment services, and mission programs.
Some of the most common barriers to employment include: disability, criminal justice involved background, drug or alcohol abuse, lack of housing or homelessness, lack of work history or education, age, and lack of transportation or child care.
